On Saturday the 24th of September MCA residents decided to go the Lake District. We took the train early in the morning to be at Windermere station at 10 o’clock. Once there, we didn’t know where to go. So we asked an old man from the village. He kindly gave us the way to the Lake. We walked for 30 mins then we reached our destination. A place where stands a big, beautiful house and harbour for boat trips.
It was wonderful unlike the weather. That week-end was really windy and cold out there. We walked along the shores and stop somewhere where the view wasn’t too bad and where we could sit and have our lunch. In fact with Rui, the Portuguese resident, we made a wrap the day before for everyone.
Marine, a French girl, started to feed a type of seagull. At the very beginning it was quite fun but in the end a huge number of birds came out from nowhere and we had to abandon our spot. Then we walked to the ferry harbour, but we didn’t buy tickets to get in, so we just returned to the main place.
Around 2 p.m. we rented a boat for £30 an hour. The six of us drove one after the other. Even if the boat was so slow we had a great time trying to pass between the floating buoy. After sailing for an hour, we were all freezing. So we went in a coffee shop, warm up and played card.
At 6 p.m. we took the train to get home. Lake District is a very beautiful place and a perfect place to spend a tranquil day at the edge of the lake. I am sure that it would have been greater with a nice weather and a splendid sun. I recommend it!
