On 11th of November the Christmas Market of Manchester was finally opened! The whole city centre was full of wooden stands and cabins. Most of them were selling food, especially chocolate. One artisan was cooking PS controller, Iphone, cars with chocolate, this was truly impressive; but what I liked the most was the fact that the cabins were from around the world, from Indian, French, German, Irish to British cabins; it was good to see. However, I noticed that the German stands were outgrowing all the rest of the world selling drink and food.
With my friends we spent hours testing different chocolate, cheese or beers. Actually, it was quite fun and it’s the perfect event if you want to eat for free. Of course, you can buy hotdog, Christmas kebab, German beer but who does not appreciate free samples?!
In terms of shops, the most interesting ones were those which actually sold real Christmas decorations or Christmas food. Fanciful Santa Claus and clothes well represented by the spirit of Christmas. At night all the stands switch on their lights and their garlands. It was magnificent! Streets were overcrowded of people from all walk of life. They were taking pictures and smiling, the atmosphere was really MAGIC!
